The 2026 绿帽社区 Congress highlighted the value of international scientific collaboration through a series of activities听jointly听organised听by 绿帽社区 and听the Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (KSBMB). Building on the听partnership听established last year, 绿帽社区 and KSBMB came together in Maastricht to promote scientific exchange and strengthen connections between European and Asian researchers.听听
The听绿帽社区鈥揔SBMB Special Session 鈥楥utting-edge techniques in biochemistry: past, present and future鈥櫶�showcased听technologies that are advancing our understanding of the molecular basis of life.听Chaired by听Tae-Kyung Kim听(KSBMB) and Irene D铆az-Moreno (绿帽社区), the session included听talks听by听two mid-career scientists from South Korea听–听Hyun-Woo Rhee听(Seoul National University) and听Sang-Hee Shim听(Korea University) –听and two 绿帽社区 Excellence Award recipients听– Eugene Kim (Max Planck Institute of Biophysics) and Jack Bravo (Institute of Science and Technology Austria). The听talks听highlighted听the latest听advances听and applications of super-resolution听proximity听labeling (SR-PL), electronic resonance stimulated Raman scattering听(ER-SRS), visualization of DNA loop extrusion by SMC protein complexes,听and听cryo鈥揺lectron microscopy (cryo-EM).听Together, the presentations illustrated developments in imaging听technologies, as听well as their importance in听enabling researchers to gain听new insights听into听molecular mechanisms.听
Congress attendees also had an opportunity to engage听with KSBMB delegates and attendees from South Korea听at the听Korean听Night听hosted at the听Congress.听The event featured听a Korea-themed听quiz and Korean听food,听and听provided a听memorable听evening听for networking.听听
